I guess that when you hear talking about truffle your thoughts go to Langhe, and even to Alba?
Well, without But truffle doesn't recall only that one, today I'll show you another spot in Piedmont where you can find this 'diamond': Monferrato!
We're in Murisengo, a small town in Monferrato, between Casale and Alessandria, with a beautiful Castle, and anfitheatre, and a millenian history to tell you. Here you'll find art, ancient traditions and cuisine, and...during this fall season a special event: the 'Trifola d'or' show.
What's trifola? Trifola is the piemontese name for truffle, 'Trifola d'or' means 'golden truffle', and this product that mother nature gifts us, the truffle, is celebrated in Murisengo during this event.
What will you do if you attend it?
You can taste the trifula (tartufo), eat traditional specialties, enjoy a guided naturalistic walking or a guided bike tour, appreciate local wines, and attend to folklore shows, some of which tailor made for kids. But there's much more to discover in this area and the local operators will give you special suggestions.
